Release Notes for v1.44

Modified on Fri, 27 Jan, 2023 at 3:41 PM

Main New Developments

Notebook loading performance improvements

We have made significant improvements to the loading times of notebooks that have lots of visualisations. Visualisations are now loaded as static images, which allows notebooks to load much faster. To interact with a visualisation, click on the static image and it will become interactive. Please note that there is a limit to the number of visualisations that can be made interactive at any given time, which is dependent on the memory limits of the user's browser. If this limit is reached, the oldest interactive visualisation will be converted back to static. These improvements should greatly enhance the user experience for those working with large notebooks on our platform. Note that closing the browser or refreshing the page will cause all visualisations to return to their static state.

Guided Machine Learning

Our new Guided ML feature helps users choose the most suitable machine learning model for their data by allowing them to select the main parameters that are important to them. In addition, users can now train multiple models from a single step, which saves time and simplifies the workflow. Please note that advanced options are not currently available in the Guided ML step at this time, but we expect to release this feature enhancement in the future. For more information, see the knowledge article on this feature.

Minor Improvements

  • Added the ability to export attached parameters in tabular format when doing 3D to table steps.
  • Improved the handling of surface field models and implemented a queueing system: Up to two models can be trained at a given time. If a third model is added to the queue, a message will be displayed saying "Fit requested. Request is currently waiting in a queue to train model."
  • Added a queueing mechanism for surface field models, this will prevent more than one model being trained at the same time, this will reduce memory issues on the platform. When training more than one model an update like below will be displayed. The queue is shared between all users on the platform.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed an issue where clicking on the advanced options in surface field models would cause an error page to be displayed.
  • Fixed an issue where model evaluation plots were not always being displayed.
  • Other minor bug fixes
