If you can't find the menu icon for a notebook, you are probably looking at the notebooks in the "Recent Notebooks" list (see figure below). In this list no notebook menu is shown as this it just a list of shortcuts to your notebooks.
To have access to the notebook menu, you will need to access the folder in which the notebook is, as shown below:
